"The Shubert Organization has a genuine sense of theatrical history," producer Jeffrey Richards said in a statement, "for the Caine Mutiny is returning to its original New York venue where it opened on January 20, 1954. We are grateful that Admiral Schoenfeld [Shubert Organization chairman, Gerard Schoenfeld] has steered us home."
This production of The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, directed by Jerry Zaks, is set to star David Schwimmer as Lt. Barney Greenwald, Željko Ivanek as Lt. Com. Philip Francis Queeg, Tim Daly as Lt. Com. John Challee, Geoffrey Nauffts as Lt. Thomas Keefer, Joe Sikora as Lt. Stephen Maryk, Terry Beaver as Captain Blakely, Murphy Guyer as Captain Randolph Southard, Brian Reddy as Dr. Forrest Lundeen, and Ben Fox as Lt. Jr. Grade Willis Seward Keith. The play is scheduled to begin performances at the Schoenfeld on April 14 and open there on May 7 the same dates it held when it was expected at the Lyceum.
